Scary! I believe that more programs need to be put in place to educate people on proper nutrition ... and by that I don't mean the standard "eat low-fat and more grains" BS! Also, subsidizing fitness activities would be a benefit that may encourage people to become more active. This is currently done for kids, but not adults ... why not? Adults need to be active as much as kids do (if not more so). I know employers in Alberta provide their staff with allowances for fitness. At least THEY recognize the benefit of healthy employees! If our tax dollars went to educating people and helping them get active, we would save billions in long term health care. Think about it!
